C&DH Meeting 8/31/09

  • Set up accounts on ECE computers for new members
  • Set up wiki accounts for Brent, Chris
  • Updated wiki accounts for current members of C&DH
  • Research possible temperature sensors for sensor board
  • Create time line for launch

Class Meeting 9/9/09

  • Finalized driving arrangements
  • Scheduled clean up session with W7UQ Moscow radio club to clean out the hamshack

C&DH Meeting 9/14/09

  • Created list of attending launch members
  • Pre-Launch inventory, uploaded onto wiki
  • Assigned launch roles
  • Added and tested temperature sensors to sensor board

Class Meeting 9/16/09

  • Informal Critical Design Review
  • Determined groups standings on whether or not we will launch on August 26th based on how prepared groups are now- so far good

C&DH Meeting 9/21/09

  • Fixed a problem with the GPS cable falling off the board, took it in and fixed it
  • Checked to make sure that code worked with the board….Code does not work for unknown reason. Trying to debugg and figure out what the problem is.
  • Temperature sensors are TBD, This depends on how long it will take to fix problem with the programming environment
  • If code is not fixed by Class meeting on Wednesday, launch will have to be postponed until October 3rd

Class Meeting 9/23/09

  • Verified launch date to be 9-26-09
  • Made sure every team was prepared and ready for launch
  • Double checked integration between teams after class.

LAUNCH DAY 9/26/09

  • Main board and Sensor board were powered on 8:42 A.M.
  • RTD 1 was inside temperature and RTD 2 was Top outside temperature
  • RTD 3 was not plugged in therefore, Data was not valid
  • Mission Status……..Failure due to communication

C&DH Meeting 9/28/09

  • Interpreted data to make sure that the sensors on the board were working correctly.
  • Everything worked, Gyroscopes and Accelerometer data was invalid because capsule did not take off.
  • Integrated temperature sensors worked with system

  • Reasons why launch did not work, possible changes to future launches
  • Went over schedule for the RISE symposium at Northwest Nazarene University (NNU)
  • Figured out travel arrangements for symposium

  • Went over individual assessments of other programs
  • Postponed launch until a later date
  • Talked about involvement with NASA AMES rocket program

C&DH Meeting 10/19/09

  • Discussed Telecon and the objectives in order to launch a capsule with NASA AMES.
  • Went over a preliminary time line for NASA AMES rocket launch
  • Discussed which board to use for the launch, possible options - current system, Senior design system, Combination of the two, or re modifying existing design and incorporating senior design sensors

C&DH Meeting 10/28/09

  • Rescheduled Monday meeting to Wednesday so that we could meet with Comm team to discuss integration of New rocket design.
  • Went over list of questions for Telecom with Mark Murdoch
  • Talked about restrictions with GPS
  • Went over sensors needed to integrate between both teams

Class Meeting 10/28/09

  • Decided on T-shirt designs

Telecom Meeting 10/28/09

  • Scheduled a Telecom meeting with March Murdoch, he was unable to show, but we got information that was needed.
  • Geiger counters are still a possibility
  • No Real Time Data transmission
  • The board can be turned on prior to launch
  • Most likely going to use an altitude switch rather than a magnetic switch

C&DH Meeting 11/4/09

  • Rescheduled meeting so that we could again, integrate ideas with Comm Team.
  • Determined that our existing GPS would not be able to work based on restrictions. Comm team is going to look into GPS for us and after they decide which one to use we are going to integrate it onto the board design.

Class Meeting 11/4/09

  • Telecom was scheduled instead of class meeting.
  • Mark Murdoch was unable to make it to the conference, but he was able to give his ideas and concerns to colleagues.

C&DH Meeting 11/9/09

  • List of tasks to complete today
    • Timeline
    • Start design on EAGLE
      • Need CPU : Arm-7
      • Power supply off of existing VAST main board
      • Analog to Digital Converter from VAST sensor board
      • Pressure sensor from Team Contact
  • Need to research Temperature sensor and Accelerometer
  • Also brainstorming for casing structure for the PCB

Class Meeting 11/11/09

  • Went over a list of questions that needed to be answered for the probe.
  • Finalized T-shirt designs and started ordering

C&DH Meeting 11/16/09

  • We are trying to narrow down a list of sensors for the board. The options are sensors from TEAM CONTACT, last semester's board, or order new parts.
  • Comm team is researching the GPS sensor to place on the board.
  • Went over a time line to see if we are on schedule, for which we are
