Contract of Excellence

1. Responsible for Learning/Self Growth

  • I am responsible for my own leaning. When new knowledge/skills are needed to complete a task I will take the steps necessary to construct the knowledge and practice the skills myself by utilizing the many resources available to me.
  • I understand that the other students in the team are here to help me learn and I am here to help others learn. Therefore I will ask lots of questions and answer all the questions asked of me to the best of my ability.

2. Understand Goals

  • I will actively seek understanding of the goals of the project, my team, my teammates, and myself; and actively work to meet the goals.

3. Assess Performance

  • I will work to honestly assess performance of the project, my team, my teammates and myself on a regular basis and be open to assessment from others to continuously improve performance.

4. Perform Role

  • I will actively work to understand my role and responsibilities in the project. If the role assigned to me is not clear, or does not line up with my interests.
  • I will work with the project leadership to create a well defined role that lines up with my interests.

5. Complete Tasks on Time

  • I will complete the tasks assigned to me to the best of my ability and on time to ensure that the project stays on schedule and is completed at a high quality.
  • If I am unable to complete tasks on time, I will let the project management know and work with them to try to get someone else to complete the task on time.

6. Participate in Project

  • I will show up to meetings and classes on time because I am an important part of the team and my absence will effect the rest of the project.
  • If I am unable to show up on time, I will let the project management know so they can adjust their plans accordingly.

7. Communicate Effectively

  • I will actively work to communicate clearly and concisely through documentation, presentations, and verbally.
  • I will communicate my ideas openly and be receptive to others ideas because creative ideas are critical to success in problem solving.

8. Work Together

  • I will be energetic and motivated when working on the project because this creates an environment where meetings and project work is fun.
  • I will actively work to get to know the people in the project because building relationships is important to strengthening the project.
