• Attainable with experience, skills, knowledge, and resources that the group has at disposal
• Diverse enough so each team can contribute and be challenged
• Challenging enough so students can be proud of accomplishments
• Outcome is meaningful enough to be motivating
• Knowledge, skills, and experience gained will be applicable outside of RISE
• Appropriate scope (no more than 1 year, no less than 1 semester for design and manufacturing)
