Hal F8 01 Objectives

Ground Station Objectives

Full Success

  • Log all packets recovered by mobile units.
  • Provide mission support to recover package on the same day as the launch.
  • Record three major areas of improvement

Success

  • Log 90% of packets recovered by mobile units.
  • Provide mission support to recover package within 3 days of the launch.
  • Record two major areas of improvement.

Minor Success

  • Log 50% of packets recovered by mobile units.
  • Provide mission support to recover package within 7 days of the launch.
  • Record one major area of improvement.

Command and Data Handling Objectives

Full Success

  • Data acquired for all 8-11 sensors
    • 3xGyroscopes
    • Accelerometer
    • Pressure
    • Internal Temperature/External Temperature
    • Magnetometer data
  • No power failures
  • GPS lock for entire mission
  • Recovery of our system in working order

Success

  • Data acquired for critical sensors
    • Accelerometers
    • External Temperature
    • Pressure
  • GPS lock and data acquisition for 9/10 time of flight
  • Recovery of our system in recoverable condition

Minor Success

  • Retrieval of our system in recoverable condition
  • Data acquisition of non-critical sensors

Failure

  • Loss of package/system
  • No data acquisition

Communication Objectives

Full Success

  • Ginger maintains link from the ground through burst at high data rates. Lower data rates acceptable for terrain blockages.
  • Allspice nodes function as planned for the duration of the flight'
  • Both microtraks maintain GPS lock and send all flight packets to digipeaters

Success

  • Allspice nodes may cut out at cold temperatures or be obscured my metallic payloads
  • Ginger may be obscured by geography
  • Microtraks may lose GPS lock for a few packets

Minor Success

  • Ginger locks up but maintains a full and useful link up to that point in time
  • Allspice nodes send clear and meaningful data for some of the time

Science Objectives

Full Success

  • Data from all sensors for entire flight is valid.
  • Camera returns 100% good (non-fogged) pictures.

Success

  • Data from all sensors for 80% of flight is valid.
  • Camera returns 80% good (non-fogged) pictures.

Minor Success

  • Data from 80% of sensors for 80% of flight is valid.
  • Camera returns 60% good (non-fogged) pictures.

Structures Objectives

Full Success

  • Maintain structural integrity
  • Maintain thermal Integrity
  • Quick and thorough Setup and Launch
  • Recovered successfully

Success

  • Recovered successfully
  • Systems were able to stay functional
  • Only minor superficial damaged

Minor Success
