Magnetic Mapping

Goal

To map the Earth's magnetic fields for geologic study

Project Description

ARIAL will fly at an altitude of 10,000 feet and take electromagnetic images or field intensity readings using a magnetometer. After the flight, the images will be pieced together to form a map of magnetic fields, which can indicate what type of rocks an area is comprised of.
