Sliding Camera Mount

Goal

To create a camera mount that will have the camera pointed directly downward at the bottom of the capsule during flight upward and retract at the time the balloon pops or is cut such that the camera is higher up on the capsule and facing outward on the flight down

Design

The camera mount will be attached to a set of runners which run down the capsule. At the beginning of the flight, the mount will rest at the bottom of the runners, facing down. When the balloon is popped or cut, there will be enough acceleration from the transition into the fall to cause the mount to slide up the runners to the top, where it will lock into place facing outward to the side of the capsule, safe from the initial impact of landing.
