Unison is a file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows. It allows two replicas of a collection of files and directories to be stored on different hosts (or different disks on the same host), modified separately, and then brought up to date by propagating the changes in each replica to the other.
The purpose for this software will further along the design for the Mesh Network Project. As networks come into range the computers on each will sync files so every computer will have as similar data to each other as possible.
We haven't actually played with this software yet. It might suit our needs or be a jumping point for other software later found or made.
puff… I've used this for years… works great - (Evan)
